Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I went to dragonfly automotive and only had to pay my $100 deductible
My service contract through efg on my 2017 ford focus will only pay $393 less a $100 deductible. I am hoping to go to another repair facility called Dragonfly automotive. The service that I received from the customer service at efg has been non complacent. However after deciding that I would be paying too much out of pocket I called back and was given good customer service.
However, I was told that Midas of Chula Vista would have to call efg and state that no work was done at their facility or repair shop. In light of this I have an appointment June 27th Im hoping that this is cleared up by then.
The transmission axle seals need to be replaced very soon. I dont want transmission damage.
- Did honor claim initially
- Customer service team could be more sympathetic
Preferred solution: My transmission axle seals replaced with EFG paying at least the $393 less $100 deductible they promised.

Verified ReviewerHeavy-handed customer representative
I received a 'FINAL NOTICE' in the mail about my newly purchased SUV for an extended warranty. I called back because the dealership had said they couldn't provide my SUV with a warranty because it was over 20k miles.
The representative I spoke with lied and said her company was directly linked to Lexus. Google said that wasn't true. She told me to look up the Better Business Bureau to see how amazing their company was. When I pointed out the company had 1 out of 5 stars due to customer reviews, she started getting defensive.
She began laughing at me and telling me that I should know what the Better Business Bureau is. She stated that the fact they have an A+ rating means they are a great company. She added that I would regret it if I didn't buy a warranty from them. It sounds shady.
Stay away from this company.
There's a $20 bet that they have bought all their Google reviews and their A+ rating on BBB. Every person online says that they would rather have paid for their repairs themselves than go through this shady company.
- Shady
- Expensive
- Scam
Preferred solution: Stop sending "Final Notice" cards to people who buy new cars. You are a scam artist with good marketing. Stay away from Americans, you shady cuck

Excuses not to fix my car
I had an oil pan scarfed or cracked from Normal wear and tear and was told because of outside influence which I don't know what that mean the warranty would not be honored to fix my car. I advised initial person who called me and later customer service manager I have no idea how the oil pan was scarfed or cracked as it appears they was trying to say it was done on purpose which absolutely does not make any sense at all.
This company did not want to pay for repair/replacement of the pan which cost approximately $400.00 I advised the company we paid for the warranty on the car for no reason and the company is a rip off to customers.
I highly do not recommend anyone taking a warranty out for this company. I would rate them a zero if I could.
Couldn't provide a tow over 2 days then wouldn't reimburse my money.
First let me say these piece of *** are thieves. Pay for this crap service in my monthly car payment.
Car wouldn't start, tried over 2 days to secure a tow to my dealership to get the diagnosis. They could not secure a tow over 2 days. I had no other options then to get it fixed with a mobile technician in my parking lot. Cost me over 800 dollars for a new starter and labor that would have been covered by my warranty except you are dealing with incompetent morans.
Then i reached out to get my money reimbursed and was told by this *** that they weren't going to do anything because it wasn't brought to a designated shop. You couldnt provide me a tow to get it there you stupid *** incompetent *** morans...they are thieves.

Verified Reviewer |Coverage lies.
This company is a joke. DO NOT PURCHASE.
They will not cover parts that should be replaced to a Faulty ABS sensor. They told the repair shop to replace only 1 side on the rotors for my vehicle. No repair shop will do this!
They initially refused to pay for the service to even bleed the brakes because they have to replaced as well because of faulty system. Stay away!

Resolved: SCAM company
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. After posting my review, senior client service manager, Chris Pepperling personally reached out to me to address the issue.
He reopened my claim, investigated it further and even spoke with my mechanic to hear their point of view in the first hand.
Chris had my claim accepted. I appreciate his swift response and for making things right.
If you see this companies name associated with an extended auto warranty offered to you through a dealership, RUN, do not walk away from the table.
This company is as unethical as they come and truly lives up to why most Americans hate extended warranty providers. This company wants nothing more but to play games with you, waste your time, take your hard earned money and cost you even more money when all is said and done. If you are a dealership looking to to do business with a warranty company, please do not consider EFG companies as a vendor and sully your brands name and tarnish your image with your customer base. I implore you to look anywhere else for a product provider.
I will never do business with Pride Hyundai in Seekonk, MA again because they sold me this absolutely bogus extended auto warranty through EFG companies. This company will ruin you. Pleaseplease proceed with extreme caution if you still consider doing business with these criminals after reading this.
I purchased a pre-owned 2017 Hyundai Tucson Sport from Pride Hyundai in Seekonk, MA right before Covid happened. At the time I was sold this EFG companies premium extended auto warranty and told by the dealership that it would essentially provide me with the same coverage the Hyundai warranty provides for first owners of the vehicle.
My warranty was for 7 years and 100K miles on top of the mileage of the vehicle when I bought it (25K). I have meticulously taken care of this vehicle with regular oil changes and have mostly highway miles on it. At 73K miles, the engine randomly misfired while I was driving with my napping 3 year old son in the back seat. We narrowly missed getting rear ended by an Amazon tractor trailer when I suddenly lost acceleration.
After getting my child to safety, I had the vehicle towed.
I brought it to a private mechanic who had the initial fault code read and found that cylinder 3 was at 50% compression. Upon further diagnosis they recommended full engine replacement. A claim was filed with EFG companies. They didnt even assign the claim until 4 days had passed and was only assigned at that point because I called to follow up about their lack of response to my mechanic.
They then proceeded to entice me to have the mechanic take the entire engine apart so they could find some way to place the blame on me, the customer. My mechanic said I did nothing that would have lead to this happening. It is a manufacturing defect, and also a known issue for many of Hyundais engines from this time period. Their powertrain adjuster, Doug Newell, also stated on the phone with me that I did nothing wrong as the vehicle owner.
BUTHe saw carbon on the valve head of cylinder 3, so he denied the claim because on page 4 of their contract it lists carbon build up as a cause of failure they would not cover. The whole time I was in communication with the mechanic asking them if there was any way for EFG Companies to try to back out of their contract with me. They repeatedly told me how based on their professional opinion as certified automotive mechanics, there was little compelling evidence for EFG to use to void my coverage. Folks, there isnt a car on the road that doesnt have some evidence of carbon on the cylinders, especially with this type of engine.
There is absolutely no way for EFG companies to prove that the carbon they saw in a photograph was the CAUSE of failure of my vehicle. They used a common occurrence as a scapegoat to get off the hook with honoring my contract with them.
They dragged this entire charade out for almost a month, stringing me along and not responding to my mechanic in a timely manner. Dont bother asking to speak to a supervisor or managerthey will alwaysALWAYS be busy.

Using junk engines for warranty repair
Replaced our 2015 Malibu engine with one that lasted 20000 miles, just long enough to exhaust the Warranty. Then customer service laughs when i call to complain about the issues we had with engine that last 20000 miles.

Verified Reviewer |Do what you promise.
I paid nearly $4000 for extended warranty on my Ram 3500. It has blown a head gasket and EFG refused the claim.
They took a full week to tell me the repair was not covered because my engine had an unauthorized module on it to improve fuel mileage. They said that was stipulated in my contract, which I never received. I had to look up the contract that I didnt receive or sign. EFG has not provided the protection I was promised.
I should not have purchased their extended warranty. Desired outcome: I want the entire payment of $4000 refunded because in addition to paying for the repair, I am paying full rental rate for a replacement vehicle while my truck is being repaired.
- Peace of mind
- Company did not honor the warranty
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified Reviewer |Resolved: Major Engine Rod Bearing Failure/Complete Engine replacement required.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product replacement.
Took a lot of frustration, to get an Oil Cooler covered, but not the cooler lines, which were 400 bucks out of my pocket.I did receive a great apology, and coverage of about 1000 dollars of parts that are not listed on the warranty. I am pleased, with the response after posting this.
I hope they do retrain the Claims Customer Service employees not to stonewall a customer with a serious issue.I have my car in perfect condition, and spent 1600 out of pocket, with about 600 dollars of elective hoses, etc replaced while the engine was out.
The warranty does not cover reusable fasteners, etc, and BMW parts are not cheap. But it could have cost me double without EFG responding to my major issues.I am much happier with the outcome, and the Adjuster that actually phoned all involved to assist in covering all that he deemed fair.Bob Hocker
I was contacted by an Insurance Adjuster from EFG the following day I posted my review. The gentleman also contacted my Service Advisor at the Autobahn BMW, and is adjusting the parts covered and suggested additional oil sensors, etc. replacement and similar sensors. The best customer service I have received from EFG.They are not paying for ALL non covered parts, and that is reasonable. However they did review the parts previously not covered and made the adjustments to their system to cover those parts and labor.I am pleased that my point was taken, and that this guy reacted so quickly, to not only me, but directly to the Service Advisor.Happy.
I purchased the 'Drive Forever Worry Free' Limited Lifetime Powertrain Protection plan offered by EFG, with a $100.00 dollar deductible.
What a joke. My 2013 BMW X6 50i had at least one or more Connecting Rod Bearings catastrophically fail.
Parts of the Bearing and Connecting Rod Cap were found in the lower Oil Pan upon detailed inspection.
On overall assessment, an internally lubricated part, in my case at least one, Connecting Rod Bearing catastrophically failed. Metal was found throughout the lower Oil Pan, and the Oil Filter was saturated with Bearing Material. My engine was circulating metal particles throughout every Oil Lube and Cooling System. EFG ok'd the engine replacement, which is a BMW Twin Turbo V8 N63 Engine.
ONE HUNDRED BUCKS DEDUCTIBLE RIGHT?
WRONG!!!
My Dealer has advised me that they are already denying $700.00 dollars of fasteners, clamps, etc., that are not specifically listed in the Warranty Parts Covered details.
TODAY, they refused to cover the ENGINE OIL COOLER AND LINES.
So, the grand total for out of pocket to replace my engine, as of today,
is $2400.00 DOLLARS, IN ADDITION TO THE $100 DOLLAR DEDUCTIBLE.
WHAT COVERAGE!!! Calling Customer Service multiple times, they are trained under Gestapo tactics I swear. I ask to speak to a Supervisor about my claim, and I am told that I am the one you speak to.
The contract states:
'Any part damaged by the failure of a Covered Part is covered under this warranty.'.
Well I would say that 2400 bucks worth of stuff has to be replaced due to the Failure of a 'Covered Part' being my long block engine replacement.
They maintain the 1700 DOLLAR ENGINE OIL COOLER AND LINES do not apply. Well they certainly had metal contaminated oil pumped through them!
I would say that is a casualty of the Covered Part Failure.
100 Dollar Deductible??? If you are so lucky.
And my car has not even been disassembled yet.
This is after a cursory estimate of time and materials that the Dealer submitted to EFG to replace with a Remanufactured Long Block Engine.
I think they have some explaining to do Lucy.
I purchased the Platinum 200 deductible MAP warranty from EFG, along with the 100 Deductible Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. JUST TO BE FULLY PROTECTED~ Well they certainly make a lot of money off of warranties that cost you the up front purchase price, and the out of pocket money they can attempt to cheat the customer of not paying.
Crooks.

Verified Reviewer |VEHICLE REPAIR
I have tried for nearly 3 months to get EFG to honor the warranty on my 2019 Polaris Slingshot.
I am likely going to be calling an attorney if EFG keep trying to avoid fixing my vehicle.
I wish that I had checked them out before I purchased the warranty, but I trusted I Motorsport in Orlando, FL.
EFG finally sent an inspector out to the mechanic shop early May 2020 after I first contacted them.
The inspector filed the report in mid May 2020
My mechanic shop is still waiting for EFG to authorize the repairs of the transmission. My mechanic has called EFG over 5 times and left several voicemails for Adam.
As of today June 13, 2020, EFG has not returned any calls to my mechanic so my vehicle is still in the shop 3 months later.
This is beyond ridiculous and time consuming. EFG warranty is a waste of my time and efforts. It should take this long to get an authorization to repair a vehicle nor should it take this long to get your vehicle repaired.
I so disappointed what happened to customer service. Excellent customer service has become a lost art form these days but going the extra mile for a new or existing customer can make or break your company.
I just wanted my vehicle repaired and repaired correctly that is why you pay for a warranty?????

I brought my 2016 Ford F150 to my local dealer with an issue regarding the moonroof not operating. Not to bore the reader of this review, eventually the dealer fixed the moonroof, paid for through my EFG warranty.
After driving the truck for several days I realized there was a part missing( the shield that covers the track on both sides was not present). At the dealer I received the deer in the headlight look and I was requested to buy the shields and they would install them. 3 phone calls later to the dealer with no call back. Going nowhere fast, I called EFG and spoke to Kelly and Doug.
Doug was excellent. He was knowledgeable, respectful and patient. While discussing the problem we figured out that the dealer had requested and in fact were paid for the missing shields by EFG. After "pushing" the dealer more they agreed that they ordered the part, were paid for the part and had the part.
Thank you Doug and EFG.
Doug for your professionalism and EFG standing by your warranty. Dan

Best in the us
I spoke with mike, chris, and Jamie. every time I called the it was answered within 2 rings, after a few short questions the claim was authorized and I had the auth number.
when I called back for credit card payment they gave me a number to fax the bill to and it was paid within 37 minutes. It was the best transaction I have ever had in my 40 years of doing this with a third party warranty.
your company is very fortunate to have employees like these three I dealt with. Hats off to you guys and thanks for all the help

Drive Forever Worry Free...what a scam
After speaking with the first customer service agent that didn't know anything about the warranty except what he could read I was called by the supervisor and he explained everything to me. The muffler is actually covered by law for 80,000 miles by the manufacturer. The agent also explained that the agent I spoke to first would be trained so the mistake won't happen again.
Why purchase a $2,800 warranty if a main part of the vehicle isn't covered? I understand things like tires and filters and regular maintenance but when the muffler falls off your car because it wasn't welded properly in the manufacturing is absurd!
